Induction zones that will not detect a pan: cookware compatibility first, then control or zone diagnosis — without invented model electronics.
Induction heats a compatible pan, not the glass. If the zone flashes or stays cold, the first question is whether the cookware is actually induction-ready and centered on the zone. That check belongs to the cooktop category, not to a refrigerator magnet myth copied from a cooling article — though a magnet on the pan bottom is still a rough homeowner test for ferrous cookware.
Try a pan you know other induction surfaces accept. If that pan works and the first pan does not, you likely have a cookware issue. If no pan works on that zone and others do, you have a zone or control issue.
Stop using a cracked surface. Do not stack adapters that overheat the glass. Do not open the chassis.
